Daily Devotions

One of the best ways to know what God would have you to do in your life is to walk close by Him so that you know what He wants in your life. Jesus may not walk as a human being on the earth like He did 2000 years ago, but we still have the unchanged Word of God that we can rely on. This is what Christ wants us to know and He has maintained ready access to His Word in so many ways - one way of which is to get into reading and studying your bibles each day. We produce daily devotions for you to be able to stay close to God's Word and to learn a bit  more about Him.

The End of The World?

So were you ready for the end of the world? You know, the one that was supposed to end a few days ago! Sorry, but I could not resist the title :-)

We have had a wonderful year again at Xtreme Teens and I must praise all of you for keeping it real and continuing to be faithful in coming out to challange me every week. I personally have continue to grow in The Lord because of the work that I have been able to get involved with and I hope that I have shared some of that with you. I know we have had our moments during the year, but we have come out as a stronger team in the end. God has continued to make this all possible through generous giving from so many people so that we can share some time with Him each and every week.

My heartfelt thanks go out to Pastor and Mrs Thompson for being there faithfully as well and continuing to make this all possible for us.

As we close now for a much earned rest, and some "unfortunate study time" required by you during exams, I want to take this oppurtunity to thank you for your love and support during the year. My plan is to come back next year at the earliest possible time (1st Thursday of next year!) with a renewed vigour to make our youth group even better than it is now! So whilst you knuckle down and get ready for exams and the end of term, I will knuckle down and plan something too.

May I also take this moment to wish you all a very blessed and wonderful Christmas; take time to remember that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, and come back after a fabulous New year!

Shopping Time!

Yes it does seem a little early to see all those Christmas things starting to come into shop windows and all those adverts about what we should be buying... but it is also the time when we can come to realise just how much God has done for each one of us.

We have been talking about the sort of things we should not be doing a lot recently, so I want to look at the other side of the coin over the next few weeks because we can begin to feel a bit down with bad weather and dark night looming. That side I want to look at is "If I am so bad or corrupt, what does God want with me?"

It may well surprise you to find out just how much God does want you to be with Him! John 14:2-4

And don't forget to ask questions - we like to see your eyes open whilst we talk to you - lol

EU Cookie Directive

Because of the EU Cookie directive that states something to the effect that every person has the right to refuse to accept cookies from any site, we have added a bit of code to the site that will make sure that we keep up with the laws. Since we try to make your visit to our web sites as enjoyable as we can we do use cookies to help us to remember your preferences - if you log in and want to stay logged in then we have to remember that fact and we keep a session cookie to remind us you are still logged in...

We do not try to gather information for use elsewhere or even here on the site because we like to think that we are serving you and not the other way round. We do what we do for God's glory and we don't want to upset people in doing this, well, at least we do try not to ;-)

New Year (ish)

I suppose that if you have grown up in a country where the new school year begins in the  midle of the year, everything must seem normal to you! I grew up in a country where the school year coincided with the calendar year (gregorian that is) so the new year brought in a new school year - everything seemed so simple... until I came to live in England...

A new year always brings in new beginnings of some description so we are looking at bringing something new in this year - but you will have to come along to find out what it is...

Did you know that the Celtic calendar's new year was around 1st November - so they are not quite there yet! We could take on board a whole raft of different calendars so that we could celebrate something new each week, but that may get a bit OTT after a while, so let's stick to something simple... let's say the Google Calendar! lol

Do you want to feel old? Date yourself in the Byzantine calendar - the year is around 7521!

How about "ԹՎ ՌՆԿԱ" in the Armenian calendar ;-)

Or, according to this computer: '1346929745'

Let's keep it simple... Today is Thursday. That means Xtreme Teens is on today!
